Rancho/Folk Dancers

The PORTUGUESE FOLK DANCERS of the Portuguese Association of Manitoba are a group of young talented performers dedicated to portraying the culture and tradition of beautiful Portugal. The group was formed in the mid-1960's and has been dancing ever since. The dancers comprise five different age groups, each with group displaying the folk dress of a different region of Portugal. They are:

Infantil
Luzitos
Juventude
Mocidade
Alegria

Their energetic performances capture the attention and admiration of audiences wherever they perform. The brilliant costumes the dancers wear are representative of the various regions of Portugal; displaying not only geography, but history and tradition as well. Their performances are lively and entertaining and demand dedication and hard work. They perform for many occasions year-round at various venues, including the Pavilion of Portugal that is part of Winnipeg’s multicultural festival, Folklorama.

O RANCHO da Associação Português de Manitoba é um grupo de jovens dançarinos e artistas talentosos dedicado a manter a grande cultura e tradição das danças flocloricas de todo Portugal. O grupo foi formado em meados da década de 1960. O rancho é composto por quatro nivéis/grupos de, cada um exibindo o vestido foclorico de uma região diferente de Portugal. Eles são:

Alegria

Suas apresentações energéticas capturar a atenção e a admiração do público por onde se apresentam. Os trajes brilhantes que os dançarinos usam são representativos das várias regiões de Portugal, exibindo não só da geografia, mas a história ea tradição também. A danças animada e divertida e demanda dedicação e trabalho duro. O Rancho é a alégria de muitas festas e ocasiões durante o ano todo em vários locais, incluindo Pavilhão de Portugal que faz parte da festa multicultural de Winipeg, Folklorama.
